Arrival and departure

Upon arrival you are requested to register with the Scout & Guide Centre’s staff and hand in a list with the names of all group members. Also, you are required to provide us with proof of identification.  At the end of your stay we will check your campsite, so please announce your departure time at the reception well in advance. Please leave the campsite in a better state than when you first arrived.

Jamboreehouse

Please check, upon arrival, the inventory of the Jamboreehouse with the inventory list. Please leave the building at the end of your stay spic and span. Put the inventory back in its original place. You will find the cleaning instructions in the Jamboreehouse. At the costs of €125 it is possible to let our staff do the cleaning at the end of your stay, but this must be agreed upon in advance of your stay. At the end of your stay we will check the building and the inventory, so please announce your departure in time (before 11 pm) at the reception well in advance.
Tenants must bring their own bed linen (sleeping bag, a cover for the mattress and if wanted a pillow), tea towels, dishcloths, towels and toilet paper. Due to the regulations of the fire-brigade and the fire-alarm installation, smoking is prohibited in all the rooms of the Jamboreehouse as well as open fire in the fireplace in the Jamboreehouse. Please don’t make any changes to the doors.
Please do not move the beds in the dormitories. Tables and chairs are for use in the building or on the paved terrace only. Please do not use nails, stitches, pins, tape, et cetera on or in the white walls. Broken, damaged or missing inventory, kitchen-utensils and other objects must be paid for.

Cabins

Please check, upon arrival, the inventory of the cabin(s) with the inventory list. Please leave the cabin(s) at the end of your stay spic and span. Put the inventory back in its original place. You will find the cleaning rules in the cabins. At the cost of € 25 it is possible to let our staff do the cleaning at the end of your stay, but this must be agreed upon well in advance of your stay. At the end of your stay we will check the cabin(s) (and their surroundings) and the inventory, so please announce your departure time at the reception well in advance.

Transport

Scout & Guide Centre Gilwell Ada’s Hoeve is a pedestrian zone. Trolleys are available for transport of luggage.

Pets

Pets are not allowed at Scout & Guide Centre Gilwell Ada's Hoeve. This includes any pets belonging to guests or pets brought along when dropping off or picking up scouts.
Nature Scout & Guide Centre Gilwell Ada’s Hoeve is a beautiful nature site and we would like to keep it beautiful and safe. Never dig ditches or holes, avoid damaging plants and trees, do not pick flowers or fell trees.

Campfires

Campfires are allowed at the designated fireplace on your campsite, but only if a half-barrel is used (available at the Centre). Cooking fires (raised) and barbecues are allowed only after consultation with the Scout & Guide Centre staff.
Be careful with fire: don’t leave your camp or go to sleep if the fire is still burning. In case of long periods of drought, a fire ban may be imposed.

Hygiene

Try and keep Scout & Guide Centre Gilwell Ada’s Hoeve's site and facilities in top condition; bring your waste to the waste disposal area and clean the toilet building after use. If the toilets are in use with several groups the staff will provide a cleaning schedule. The use of chemical toilets is not allowed. Please use a biologically degradable detergent.

Peace and Quiet

The other guests should not be able to hear your radio or musical instrument. Quiet hours are from 11 pm till 7 am. Please do not raise your voice, don’t organise games, make any music or loud noises or use unnecessary bright lights during this period.

Guests

You are welcome to invite guests to your camp. The Scout & Guide Centre’s regulations apply also to them. When your guests stay overnight, please inform the staff. You will receive an additional invoice for the extra nights.

The Scout & Guide Centre’s staff

The Scout and Guide Centre warden and staff are obliged to do everything they can to keep the Scout & Guide Centre in optimum shape and promote Scout and Guide camping. They have the right to refuse or expel guests who do not follow the regulations.

Complaints

The Scout & Guide Centre staff is here to ensure you enjoy a pleasant stay. If you’re unhappy about anything, please contact the staff immediately. If you feel your complaint is not dealt with correctly, you may file an official complaint in writing to the warden of Scout & Guide Centre Gilwell Ada's Hoeve. Please do so within four weeks of your stay.

Large events or camps

In the case of large events or camps with a large number of people, additional rules and regulations may be enforced by Gilwell Ada's Hoeve or the local municipality, Ommen. Please ensure you are aware of these additional rules before your event or stay.

Liability

- Guests, who damage property of Scout & Guide Centre Gilwell Ada’s Hoeve, are requested to pay for any repair or renewal of property as a consequence of their actions.
- Guests indemnify Scout & Guide Centre Gilwell Ada’s Hoeve against all claims relating to damage or injury of third parties which are (partly) the result of any action or omission of themselves, other users, their group or any guests staying in their camp with their permission.
Owing to circumstances beyond our control, the warden and/or Scout & Guide Centre Staff will rule.
