At Ada's Hoeve
Branding
Branding -placing a hot iron stamp into e.g. wood or leather- is being executed by our camp staff. We have various branding stamps available, like the flame of friendship which is the logo of Gilwell Ada’s Hoeve. Bring your own piece of wood or leather and we will brand it for you. Make sure to arrange this activity in time, as our camp staff needs to assist you. the compass in detail. Ideal for a joined workshop.
Campfire
The campfire pit of Gilwell Ada’s Hoeve suits 500 people, if we sit tight even 600. Campfires are always a lot of fun, but only with many scouts. During the Saturday night briefing, we will inquire about a joint campfire. If we have enough people, we will organise the joint campfire all together. Besides the scouts of Gilwell Ada’s Hoeve, we will also invite the scouts of the Scouting campsite Eerde.
Kubb
Kubb is a traditional Swedish game. It is a lawn game where the goal is to knock over wooden blocks by throwing wooden sticks at them. Kubb can be simply described as a combination of bowling and chest. Kubb can be played by young and old. A perfect outdoor game for everybody to enjoy!
Bow and arrow shooting
Learn how to focus when shooting a bow. During this 1 hour session you will learn all the tips and tricks about bow and arrow shooting from our camp staff. A match at the end will tell the best pupil of max. 12 scouts. This activity is suitable for Scouts and older (11+). Ensure to make an appointment in time, as this is a very popular activity at Gilwell Ada’s Hoeve.
Pioneering and rafting
Do you want to create your own kitchen, playground or raft? Everything is possible! Gilwell Ada’s Hoeve has pioneering wood available. Besides, we also have drums, paddles and life-jackets. You only need to bring your own pioneering ropes. Ordinary sisal rope is for sale at the camp shop of Gilwell Ada’s Hoeve.
Play, sports and games
On Gilwell Ada’s Hoeve we have a special field for playing, sports and games, called: Gulden Roede. Gulden Roede is next to the river the Vecht, so water games are also a refreshing option.
